Learning Styles

Which learning style are you?

Answer the following questions to help determine.

=> Do you understand information best when you read something?

=> Do you generally remember what you read and write?

=> Do you prefer written instructions rather than verbal instructions?

If yes, you are more than likely a visual learner. The best way for you to get your information will be books and DVDs.

=> Do you prefer to have someone explain to you what to do instead of reading a manual?

=> Do you generally remember what you hear and say?

=> Did you do better in the classes where the teacher tested on the lecture material?

=> Do you enjoy talking about your ideas/challenges with others?

If yes, you are more than likely an auditory learner. The best way for you to get your information will be audio books and second best will be DVDs.

=> Do you learn best by “Doing”?

=> Do you sometimes take notes not to review later but just to keep you busy?

=> After you have done something once, do you rarely need to be shown how to do it again?

If yes, you are probably a kinesthetic learner. You will learn best in a complete program that involves more of you.

Obviously, we are all a combination of different learning styles but if you match your learning style with your preferred format you are well on your way to being all you can be. Studies show you will retain the information 75% better than if you learn outside of your learning style.
