Jul 26, Looking to Increase your Self Confidence?

Think of all the things you haven't done YET. As you think about those things, ask yourself, "What has been stopping me?" The likelihood is that Self-Confidence is a major factor.

You probably already know that successful people who have high levels of Self-Confidence seem to be unstoppable at everything they do.

Self doubt, fear and lack of Self-Confidence can hold you back from achieving your goals. But if you had Unstoppable Self-Confidence you'd naturally become aware that you can solve any problem and handle any obstacle on your path to making your dreams become a reality.

More than 100 pages of new, cutting-edge content were added to the original. Forget the old concept of retirement and the rest of the deferred-life plan there is no need to wait and every reason not to, especially in unpredictable economic times. Whether your dream is escaping the rat race, experiencing high-end world travel, earning a monthly five-figure income with zero management, or just living more and working less, The 4-Hour Workweek is the blueprint.
The bestseller 4-Hour Work Week has been revised and updated for you to succeed in working smarter in 2010. The advice Tim Ferris provides will not only get you thinking it will get you into action. He has personally done what he suggests and they will work for you as well. I highly recommend this book.

May 1, John Maxwell's Thinking for a Change on Sale

I am big fan of John Maxwell and a firm believer we can make big and significant changes and contributions if we change our thinking.

At the heart of John C. Maxwell's brilliant and inspiring book is a simple premise: To do well in life, we must first think well. But can we actually learn new mental habits? Thinking for a Change answers that with a resounding "yes" - and shows how changing your thinking can indeed change your life.

Drawing on the words and deeds of many of the world's greatest leaders and using interactive quizzes, this empowering book helps you assess your thinking style, guides you to new ones, and step by step teaches you the secrets of:

-Big-Picture Thinking - seeing the world beyond your own needs and how that leads to great ideas.
-Focused Thinking - removing mental clutter and distractions to realize your full potential.
-Creative Thinking - stepping out of the "box" and making breakthroughs.
-Shared Thinking - working with others to compound results.
-Reflective Thinking - looking at the past to gain a better understanding of the future ... and much more.

Thinking for a Change is a unique primer not on what to think, but how to best use one of your most precious possessions: your mind. Enjoy. I sure did. Click below to Download the audio.

Jan 19, My initial thoughts on the Science of Getting Rich

This was a book that took a while for me to get used too. After you learn/understand this book in its simplicity the pure genius will astound you. In one of the early chapters he basically tells you to just trust him that what he says is true. Unfortunately, I did not trust Wallace Wattles and I set this book aside for many years Part of it was because I read it for the first time in my mid 20's and figured how could this little book written so long ago have it all figured out. I sure was wrong and Wallace Wattles did have it all figured out and this book is worth reading/listening/masterminding to for a lifetime.

January Special Save an additional 20 this month Only on Brian Tracy's Maximum Achievement, Tracy presents a proven system of powerful ideas and principles you can use to rapidly improve your life.

He has combined insights and methods from psychology, philosophy, metaphysics and human potential research to create a unique program that will:

* Streamline your focus for maximum results

* Remove mental barriers that stand in the way of your dreams

* Provide you with the essential conditions for change

* Develop superior relationships in your personal and professional life

By following the principles of Maximum Achievement's Master Plan, you can build a foundation for a life of happiness, health, harmony and prosperity.

My self help journey started for me in 1996 when I attended a live full day seminar with several speakers, one of which was Brian Tracy. He boldly said if you buy these two sets of audio tapes you will triple your income in six months but you must listen repeatedly and take actions on what you learned.

I said triple my income? That sounds pretty good so I bought the Psychology of Achievement and the Psychology of Selling for $120 and started listening. Sure enough, I went from making $3,500 a month to $10,000 a month in just 6 months, which wasn't quite 3 times but pretty close.

Maybe you will start your journey in 2010 with Brian Tracy as well?

The Question Journey is profoundly insightful and certainly is a Journey you should consider taking on for yourself.

Excerpt from the book that I think helps us to understand the Journey Trish Bishop is leading us on:

"The knowledge of who and what we are lives within each of us, always. All we need to do is make the time and be open and willing to explore it. ... The Question Journey is a tool to help you begin the process of reclaiming your authentic self."

This is a book that helps you to look at yourself in a new way and if you let it will put you a new path.

Dec 29, Some Great Self Help Quotes

"You only lose energy when life becomes dull in your mind. Your mind gets
bored and therefore tired of doing nothing. Get interested in something! Get
absolutely enthralled in something! Get out of yourself! Be somebody! Do
something. The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the
more energy you will have."

Norman Vincent Peale
1898-1993, Pastor, Speaker and Author

"Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand,
and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools
will be found as you go along."

Napoleon Hill
1883-1970, Author of Think and Grow Rich

"Pretend that every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck
that says, 'Make me feel important.' Not only will you succeed in sales, you
will succeed in life."

Mary Kay Ash
1918-2001, Founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics

"Most great people have achieved their greatest success just one step beyond
their greatest failure."

Napoleon Hill

"Our minds become magnetized with the dominating thoughts we hold in our
minds, and these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the
circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating
thoughts."

Napoleon Hill

"Self-disciplined begins with the mastery of your thoughts. If you don't
control what you think, you can't control what you do."

Napoleon Hill

"Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for
something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how
really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with
your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."

Earl Nightingale
1921-1989, Author and Radio Announcer

"Remember, happiness doesn't depend on who you are or what you have; it
depends solely on what you think."

Dale Carnegie
1888-1955, Writer and Lecturer

"We've all heard that we have to learn from our mistakes, but I think it's
more important to learn from successes. If you learn only from your
mistakes, you are inclined to learn only errors."

Norman Vincent Peale
1898-1993, Pastor and Author

"The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people
create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives,
passively waiting to see where life takes them next. The difference between
the two is the difference between living fully and just existing."

Added the Lens Workshop Firefox which helped me a great deal with tags, navigation, pinging, and lensrank. Thanks fluffanutta

Just saw $7 in my Pepperjam account not sure how or why because it has confused me -- time to learn!!

Sold 3 books through the Amazon module!! I thought the Amazon module wasn't working (just kidding it just didn't seem like it).

Signed up for TwitAd to get more money (monetize your Twitter account we'll see...). Affiliate sales today for $48.93!! It's starting to gain some momentum.

Getting Amazon sales from this lens and pretty much this one only. Happy about the sales but why not my other lenses??

Just checked and did make a nice affiliate sale this week $71 affiliate lens

Discovering outbound links, SquidU posts, and pinging are a bigger factor on lensrank then I thought because when I don't do these things I see a drop in visitors and lensrank.

Dec 5, The Two Choices We Face by Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn motivational speaker and author Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less.

These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice.

To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Like the tree, it would be a worthy challenge for us all to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities. Why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that we can, for as long as we can?

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability and desire will permit. To settle for doing less than we could do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings.

Results are the best measurement of human progress. Not conversation. Not explanation. Not justification. Results! And if our results are less than our potential suggests that they should be, then we must strive to become more today than we were the day before.

The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

To Your Success,

A new book written Trish Bishop takes a different approach to discovery and your own enlightenment.

About the book from the website:

"The Question Journey is a guided self-development journal that provides powerful tools to silence the stealthy sabotage that seems to consistently show up in your life. Too often we feel there are important answers for us, but they are just out of reach. We never seem to feel fulfilled or, more often, we feel that something is missing. So we go in search of this missing piece or elusive answers by attending seminars and workshops and buying books and looking for the experts to help us find our way. We have been conditioned to look outside of ourselves, when the truth is that every answer we could ever want is already within our own hearts; and they are available to us if we simply have the courage to look. The teachers and gurus and personal development experts are all saying the same thing; look inside, everything you need is right there. Every tool they give you, the stories and examples they provide, are all designed to help you get back to your authentic self."

I am starting The Question Journey myself and will let you know...

Oct 19, How to Make Money With Squidoo

By: Daniel Gebura

Squidoo lenses are great way to spread the word about your interests, hobbies and passion. Not only because they are free to use but also because they have a one more important advantage that you can use to its full potential. This advantage is search engines indexing.

Squidoo lenses come from high page rank website which makes them more likely to be indexed by search engines such us Google, Yahoo or MSN.

All online marketers know that the search engines traffic is the best quality one that the can ever get. Why? Because its free traffic and its targeted, which means that people find websites they need by typing particular search terms into search engines.

Taking this advantage you can get your free Squidoo lenses to the top of search engines making your online marketing cost effective and really profitable.

Bit first of all what it takes to build good quality lens?

Well if you have some product to promote you should, do the keyword research for this product, to find the keywords that have high volume of daily searches and less competition (under 1 million of Google results).

Next you should create you lens beginning from the title for which you should use the researched keyword.

Next you should create some valuable content that will engage the reader. If the purpose of your lens is to promote particular product, then first you can write 300 500 words review of this product. It should explain all the features of the product and what kind of problem it can solve as people usually look for solutions and opportunities. And here remember to insert your keyword at least once in every paragraph. Keep amount of keywords decent but dont overdo it to keep the quality of your content good as well.

Also you can bold your keyword a few times along the article and use it for the headlines and titles in your lens as well.

Finally right after the content you can insert necessary links, banners and images that will direct your visitor to the sales page of your product.

When you finally have your lens ready, you need to spread the word about it.
And here for search engines indexing purposes you should backlink to your lens from other sites using anchor text link which will be your keyword. This will speed up the process of indexing your lenses in search engines and allow higher rankings.

By mixing good quality content that will engage the visitor with good search engine optimization you will be able to make a living from Squidoo marketing.

Aug 29, NEVER LOSE HOPE IN DEALING WITH YOUR FEARS AND DEPRESSION

When your fears and depression have the best of you, it is easy to feel that things will not get any better. This is not true. There is much help available in todays society and the best way to deal with your fears is to find effective ways to overcome them. As a result, here are some techniques a person can use to help manage their fears and anxieties.

You never know when the answers you are looking for will come to your doorstep. Even if the thing that you feared does happen, there are circumstances and factors that you cant predict which can be used to your advantage. These factors can change everything. Remember: we may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you feel fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense.

Some people get depressed and have a difficult time getting out of bed in the mornings. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. Doing something will get your mind off of the problem and give you confidence to do other things.

Be smart in how you deal with your fears and anxieties. Do not try to tackle everything all at once. When facing a current or upcoming task that overwhelms you with a lot of anxiety, break the task into a series of smaller steps. Completing these smaller tasks one at a time will make the stress more manageable and increases your chances of success.
Take advantage of the help that is available around you. If possible, talk to a professional who can help you manage your fears and anxieties. They will be able to provide you with additional advice and insights on how to deal with your current problem. By talking to a professional, a person will be helping themselves in the long run because they will become better able to deal with their problems in the future. Managing your fears and anxieties takes practice. The more you practice, the better you will become.

The techniques that I have just covered are some basic ways to manage your fears and depression; however your best bet is to get some help from a professional and not to lose hope. Eventually, you will find the answers you are looking for.

Jul 26, WHEN SOMEONE YOU KNOW STRUGGLES WITH FEAR, ANXIETY AND STRESS

What do you do when someone you know has to deal with persistent fears, anxieties, or even depression? Well the first thing you need to do is to get the person to seek the services of a professional who can lead them in the right direction and give them the help they need. In addition, here are some other techniques you can use to help the person cope.

Learn as much as you can in managing anxiety and depression. There are many books and information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety. Share this information with the person who is struggling. Education is the key in finding the answers your looking for in managing your fears.

Be understanding and patient with the person struggling with their fears. Dealing with depression and anxiety can be difficult for the person so do not add more problems than what is already there.

In every anxiety-related situation you experience, begin to learn what works, what doesnt work, and what you need to improve on in managing your fears and anxieties. For instance, you have a lot of anxiety and you decide to take a walk to help you feel better. The next time you feel anxious you can remind yourself that you got through it the last time by taking a walk. This will give you the confidence to manage your anxiety the next time around.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, you are afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available.

Another thing to remember is that things change and events do not stay the same. For instance, you may feel overwhelmed today with your anxiety and feel that this is how you will feel the rest of the week or month. This isnt correct. No one can predict the future with one hundred percent accuracy.

When your fears and anxieties have the best of you, seek help from a professional. The key is to be patient, take it slow, and not to give up. In time, you will be able to find those resources that will help you with your problems.

Jul 11, HOW TO COPE WITH DEPRESSION

Some people have a difficult time in managing their depression. Sometimes, their depression and fears can get the best of them. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their depression.

One of the ways to manage your depression is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, your afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available and just because you dont get this job promotion doesnt mean that you will never get one. In addition, people change jobs all the time, and you always have that option of going elsewhere if you are unhappy at your present location.

Sometimes, we can get depressed over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship volleyball game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self-Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation.

Take advantage of the help that is available around you. The techniques that I have just covered are some basic ways to manage your depression, however your best bet is to get some help from a professional.

Jun 15, MANAGING YOUR PERSISTENT FEARS, DEPRESSION, AND ANXIETIES

Everybody deals with anxiety and depression, however some people have a hard time in managing it. As a result, here is a brief list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their most persistent fears and every day anxieties.

When facing a current or upcoming task that overwhelms you with a lot of anxiety, the first thing you can do is to divide the task into a series of smaller steps. Completing these smaller tasks one at a time will make the stress more manageable and increases your chances of success.

Sometimes we get stressed out when everything happens all at once. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem. A person could get some fresh air, listen to some music, or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things.

A person should visualize a red stop sign in their mind when they encounter a fear provoking thought. When the negative thought comes, a person should think of a red stop sign that serves as a reminder to stop focusing on that thought and to think of something else. A person can then try to think of something positive to replace the negative thought.

Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that makes you feel good. Whenever you come across an affirmation that makes you feel good, write it down in a small notebook that you can carry around with you in your pocket.

Whenever you feel depressed or frustrated, open up your small notebook and read those statements. This will help to manage your negative thinking.
Learn to take it one day at a time. Instead of worrying about how you will get through the rest of the week, try to focus on today. Each day can provide us with different opportunities to learn new things and that includes learning how to deal with your problems. You never know when the answers you are looking for will come to your doorstep. We may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference.
